Cross Keys Homes (CKH) has distributed gifts and donated to three charities providing essential support to local people, as part of its ‘Good neighbour rewards’ initiative. A total of £1,500 will be shared equally by the Trussell Trust, Little Miracles and the Garden House, all of which have provided support to CKH residents during the Covid crisis.
CKH residents nominated 55 people who helped others in 2020, including delivering food parcels, preparing home-cooked meals and offering emotional support during lockdown.
The initiative was sponsored by CKH’s maintenance contractor Mears Group, which also donated £700 to buy gifts for people spending Christmas in CKH’s short stay accommodation. CKH provides more than 160 homes in Peterborough for families and individuals who have lost their homes.
CKH Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “It’s fantastic to acknowledge so many residents for their hard work and commitment to making a positive difference during such testing times.”
She added: “Our Be Kind fund is still available to support CKH residents struggling with the impact of Covid-19, providing anything from white goods to wellbeing products. Requests can be made via the CKH website.”
