More than 200 gifts were donated, enough for all of the residents at CHG Group’s eight services for vulnerable people, with some left over for other partner organisations in Cambridgeshire.
CHS Group Community Support Manager Breege Brandon said: “This was the first time we’ve run the appeal and the response was truly overwhelming. Christmas can be a very difficult time of year and it was phenomenal to provide people with the essentials they needed and to give them the joy of knowing there are people in the community who care about them.”
CHS Group runs five services in Cambridge, Ely and Wisbech providing accommodation and support to 16-24-year olds who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Gifts were also delivered to its Russell Street service, which provides accommodation and support for single adults (18-64) who have a learning disability, are on the autistic spectrum, or have acquired brain injuries, and to its Corona House service, which offers accommodation and support to women aged 18-64 at risk of homelessness.
