Cross Keys Homes is helping 50 people get paid work experience, through the Government’s Kickstart scheme.
Cross Keys Homes (CKH) will be providing six months paid work experience positions for people aged up to 24 in roles across its Community Investment, Estate Ranger and Grounds Maintenance teams, as well as with its repairs contractor, Mears Group.
The young people will also be given training to prepare them for entering the world of work. This will include coaching, along with literacy, numeracy, and IT skills. Plus, participants will benefit from the CKH Careers Club, giving them job application and interview skills.
CKH is now working with JobCentrePlus Peterborough to identify qualifying young people and it's hoped the first cohort will start work in March.
CKH’s Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “We’ve supported young people into work through our pre-apprentice and apprenticeship schemes for many years and so are well placed to know what additional support they need. I can’t wait to welcome these young people when they join us in March.”
